Imaging Bites: RapiClear for Multiscale Tissue Imaging

Hodgkin Building, Guy’s Campus, London

This Imaging Bites seminar will explore optical clearing technology, a technique that enhances large-volume imaging by reducing light scattering and absorption in tissue. When combined with molecular labelling and optical microscopy, this technology enables detailed visualisation and analysis of 3D morphological structures, even at the whole-organ level.

Guest speaker Daniel Lin from, SUNJin Lab will introduce the ready-to-use clearing agent RapiClear and explain the fundamental principles of tissue clearing. The talk will also cover the advantages and limitations of various tissue clearing methods, concluding with concise imaging results demonstrating tissue clearing applications across different scales. This event is free, but registration is required.

Join us for this 30-minute talk on advanced imaging technology, followed by an interactive Q&A. A complimentary lunch will be provided, offering a valuable opportunity to network with colleagues and peers in the imaging community. This seminar will be moderated by Alejandra Carbajal, CUI Facility Manager.

Additional Opportunities with Daniel Lin

  • Hands-on Clearing Workshop: After the seminar, Daniel Lin will host a hands-on Rapiclear workshop at the Microscopy Innovation Centre from 14:00 onwards.
  • 1-on-1 Consultations: On Thursday 27 February, Daniel will be available for individual consultations to discuss specific sample clearing needs. Slots will be available to book at the seminar on Wednesday 26 February.
  • Free Samples: Starting Monday 03 February, free Rapiclear samples and i-spacers for mounting will be available at the Microscopy Innovation Centre. This is a great chance to try Rapiclear ahead of Daniel’s visit and book a session with him for further discussion and imaging. Contact Andreas Bodén for samples/i-spacers.

Imaging Bites Lunch and Learn Seminar Series
