The Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Laboratory (CARL) is an EPSRC funded national research-dedicated facility for radionuclide production and radiochemistry for pre-clinical applications.

Access: Interested users should contact the facility (carlfacility@kcl.ac.uk) to discuss their proposal for use of CARL, access, charges and training or to enquire about supply of radionuclides to research institutions across the UK and overseas.

Training: General H&S and radiation safety induction is required for using the facility. Additional equipment-specific training will be provided before users can operate the specialised equipment independently.

Available radionuclides will include 18F, 11C, 13N, 64Cu, 62Cu, 62Zn, 44Sc, and 52Mn with additional productions being developed (e.g. 124I, 203Pb and 211At).

The CARL Facility has an 11 MeV cyclotron, HPGe detector, ICP-OES, 6 hot cells, radiosynthesis and radioanalytical modules.
