Biography

Salma Ayis a Reader in Medical Statistics at the School of Population Health & Environmental Sciences, King’s College London. Interested and experienced in the application of advanced statistical and econometrics techniques, to investigate the progression of prognostic factors and outcomes in various chronic conditions.

Recent projects include:

Trajectories of depression in stroke patients; The trajectories of eGFR in diabetic patients; Understanding the Causal Relations in eGFR progression and microvascular outcomes (diabetic kidney and retinopathy); Role of early mobilisation in outcomes of hip fracture surgery; Evaluation of mental health outcomes including PSYCHLOPS.

Methods:

Modelling Unobserved Heterogeneity; Longitudinal data analysis; Latent Class Modelling; Item Response Theory (IRT); Design and Analysis of RCTs; Meta-analysis.
