Biography
Constant has worked for many years in the field of second/additional language education. His academic and research interests include classroom pedagogy, content and language-integrated curriculum development, language assessment, academic literacies and language policy. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
Research
Constant's current research interests include language of schooling in ethnolinguistically diverse societies and language assessment.
Research projects:
- ESRC-funded ‘Modelling for Diversity: Academic Language and Literacies in School and University’ (RES-062-23-1666), with Professor Brian Street and Dr Sabina Sica.
- Comenius-funded ‘European Teacher Education – Second Language Core Curriculum’ (141836-2008-LLP-DE-COMENIUS-CMP) – a multilateral project involving researchers from nine member states.
