Biography

I lead the Grubb lab, where we investigate the many ways in which experience can change the development, form and function of the brain. We focus on the mammalian olfactory system, where experience-dependent plasticity takes weird and wonderful forms, including the generation of entirely new neurons through the process of adult neurogenesis. We believe that by studying natural mechanisms of generation and regeneration in the adult brain we can learn important lessons relevant for cellular replacement strategies in brain repair.
