PCIE Advisory Group member

Biography

Lynn Laidlaw is a member of the Public Contributor Involvement and Engagement Advisory Group of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce.

"I live with a rare disease and multiple long term conditions. A 4 year diagnostic odyssey prompted my involvement and interest in health research and I am involved with multiple researchers, academic institutions and organisations across the U.K.

I am particularly interested in Co producing research and have worked as a patient/ peer researcher on a few projects, including qualitative research on people’s experiences of shielding in the pandemic as I had to shield.

I am excited to join the Health and Social Care Workforce Research Unit Public Contributor Involvement and Engagement Advisory Group as I feel that people living with conditions work to manage them. We are an essential part of the workforce and any research, service and policy decisions impact directly on us."

Lynn Laidlaw joined the Group in 2024.
