Head of Department of Nutrition & Dietetics

Biography

Annemarie Knight is the Head of the Teaching Department of Nutrition & Dietetics and a Reader in Nutrition & Dietetics Education. She was formerly the Programme Director for undergraduate and postgraduate pre-registration dietetics programmes.

Annemarie completed her dietetic training at Trinity College Dublin. Prior to joining King's College London in 2008, Annemarie was a specialist dietitian in gastroenterology and nutritional support and also service manager for dietetic services at St Mary's Hospital in London. She is actively involved in professional organisations and networks including the Health and Care Professions Council (Continuous Professional Development Assessor Partner), the British Dietetic Association and the London Dietetic Education Stakeholder Forum.

Her teaching interests include food service, professional practice, leadership and communication skills. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice and leads on quality assurance and curriculum development for programmes in the Department.

Annemarie is currently undertaking an education-focused PhD exploring the development of communication skills in dietetics. Her research interests also include digital health, professional practice, workforce development and innovations in nutrition and dietetic education.
