Biography
Alix Mortimer works part-time as ESRC Impact Acceleration Account Manager at the Policy Institute and part-time as Impact and Engagement Manager for the School of Politics and Economics. She has been at King’s since 2016 and spent seven years working at the History & Policy unit with Professor Andrew Blick in an evolving events, communications and strategic direction role, connecting historians across the UK with Whitehall departments and the policy world more widely. This included a two-year project with the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, supporting maritime historians to give context and insight to maritime industry professionals dealing with today’s safety and innovation challenges.
Prior to arriving at King’s she worked in a variety of fields including events management in higher education, freelance political journalism and publishing, and was shortlisted for the inaugural Orwell Prize for Political Blogging 2009. Her degrees are in history and archaeology.
