Opportunity to collaborate on unique exhibition

A unique opportunity to collaborate on an upcoming exhibition is now open for applications from students.

Humboldt University
Students will collaborate with peers at Humboldt in Berlin.

The opportunity would see successful applicants from King’s working with students from Humboldt University of Berlin on a poster-based exhibition that will be hosted at the Long Night of the Sciences festival (Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften) this summer.

Students from King’s and British Studies students from Humboldt will co-create a poster-based exhibition exploring British and German migration history through the lens of the Windrush generation in the UK and the so-called Guestworkers in Germany.

The exhibition will be presented on June 28 at Long Night of the Sciences in Berlin.

Students from both universities will collaborate online to design the posters, supported by project leaders. King’s students will then travel to Berlin from 27-30.

The project is funded by the Strategic Partnership Funding 2025 of the Humboldt University of Berlin. Successful applicants will have their travel and accommodation expenses covered.

Eligibility

The opportunity is open to German Pathway students from the European Studies BA programme at King’s. Students from other European Studies BA pathways and the European Politics BA may also apply if they can demonstrate a strong background in German history, culture, and politics.
