If you have been offered a conditional or unconditional offer at King’s, congratulations! Below you will find some useful information and guidance for undergraduate offer holders. Please note not all information is relevant to your offer.
Check the acceptance deadline associated with your offer and other key dates on UCAS. Remember to respond to your offer by this date and check whether you are required to pay a deposit.
Check if you need to meet any conditions to secure your place at King’s and the deadline to meet these conditions. If you are not sure what you need to provide to confirm you have met the conditions, contact the Admissions Office by sending a message via King’s Apply using the “Meeting conditions of offer/confirmation” message category. Please note if you provide documents which are not in English, then official translations will be required.
If you know you will require a visa to study in the UK, make sure you have selected this on your application via UCAS. If you require a visa and have not selected this option, please send a message to us via King’s Apply. If you are unsure whether you need a visa to study in the UK or the type of visa you need, please take a look at this interactive guide for further information.
If you are going to need to secure accommodation during your studies, take a look at our King's accommodation webpages to find out further information.
Read through all the information in your offer letter carefully to see whether there are any other actions you need to take (such as Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS), or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and occupational health) and associated deadlines before you can secure your place.
Check all other information in your offer letter carefully to see whether there are any other actions you need to take and any associated deadlines.
Check your offer letter to make sure you know the amount you need to pay and the deadline by which you need to pay by.
Check the terms & conditions regarding making deposit payments, these details will either be included in your offer letter or in an accompanying deposit scheme information guidance document.
If you are having problems making a payment due to technical issues you should send us a message via your King’s Apply account.
If you are receiving funding and are not sure whether you need to make any additional deposit payments you should send a message via your King’s Apply account, including any official documentation regarding funding that you have secured, and we will advise you further.
If you want to check if a payment has been received because it is not reflected on your King’s Apply account you should send us a message via your King’s Apply account. If you have made payment by any other means than online debit/credit card payment, these payments will take longer to be processed and reflected on your account.
If you want to find out more about the different payment options, you can refer to our how to pay my fees King's webpage.
Induction and enrolment usually takes place up to two weeks before the start of the academic start of your programme. We will send enrolment details about four weeks before the start of your programme. For September starting programmes, you should expect to receive enrolment information from mid August onwards. Please note that the enrolment process is not handled directly by Admissions and if you have a specific enrolment query you should contact Student Services.
Remember if you have conditions to meet on your offer you will need to provide evidence of meeting these and any other requirements before the enrolment process can begin. Failure to meet the stated deadlines may result in you losing your place on the programme.
If you have applied via UCAS and are an offer holder you may be able to defer, in the first instance please check our webpages or if you have any further questions please contact us via King’s Apply.
Further deferral guidance can be found in our policies and guidance section here.
If you are made an offer which requires you to meet a condition(s) before your place can be confirmed, you will need to send us a message on King’s Apply using the “Meeting Offer Conditions/Confirmation” message category with evidence that you have met your conditions by the deadline stated in your offer letter.
If you are an applicant for an undergraduate programme and are taking A-levels your application will be updated after A-level results day (mid-August) and you will be able to log into your account to view your status. If you have completed a qualification other than A-levels we will adhere to update your application status as soon as possible upon receipt of your results. Please be advised however, if you have not met your offer conditions, we may not be able to provide you with a definitive outcome until A-level results day when we will receive the vast majority of our applicant results.
Please note, if you have an English language condition on your offer, we will not accept grades that do not meet the requirements and we will not accept a combination of grades from multiple tests (from the same type or different type of test). Please do not send us a message requesting we accept an English test that does not meet the requirements as this will be refused and the delay may cause you to not have enough time to make alternative arrangements.
If you are undertaking a Pre-sessional English language programme with King’s in order to meet an English language condition then, you will receive further details about meeting your English language condition, but if you also have an academic condition, you must send this by the deadline stated in your offer letter.
For our UCAS applicants we receive results directly from UCAS for a selection of qualifications (see here for details).
If your results are not sent automatically to us you should attach your academic documents to a message sent via your King’s Apply account, including translations of documents where relevant. If your document needs to be digitally verified, you should request that your institution or school sends this through to admissions-query@kcl.ac.uk and you should also send us a message, so we know to expect this.
If you need a student visa you should update your King’s Apply account in the Application Overview screen under each application. If you cannot see this section, please send our Visa Compliance team a message using the “Visa Query (including CAS)” message category.
Please ensure you have provided us with your passport information and any additional documentation needed to process your visa, such as details of name changes, previous UK visas etc.
Please refer back to the offer letter to ensure you understand what is required from you if you need a student visa.
We aim to process CAS numbers as quickly as we can but during peak periods there may be a delay. To help with the process please ensure you have uploaded the required supporting documentation as soon as possible (such as updated passports) as this will help to ensure we can process your CAS without having to contact you to seek further documents.
Please note that we do not begin the CAS process until you have met all the conditions of your offer and we do not begin the visa process any earlier than six months before the start of your programme. We will only begin to process your CAS once we are sure we have all the information we need from you to process this accurately.
If you have a specific reason to expedite a visa application, you can do so on King’s Apply using the “Visa Query (including CAS)” message category. To ensure the visa team can work through CAS applications as quickly as possible please only message for an update if there is a specific reason why you need your visa fast tracked.
You can contact Admissions by sending us a message via your King’s Apply account. We ask that you select the most relevant message category if you have more than one query, rather than sending multiple messages. Please note during busy periods there may be a delay in responding to you, but we will reply to you as soon as we can.
You or your current institution may be asked to send documentation to admissions-query@kcl.ac.uk but we advise you also send us a message via your King’s Apply account to let us know if you have sent documents to this email address to avoid delays.
If there are delays in processing your application, we will aim to keep you updated. You can send us a message via your King’s Apply account to query the status of your application using the “Application status/update” message category. If we have not responded to your message this does not mean we are not still continuing to assess your application in the meantime, and you do not need to send a further message unless you have a new query. We will contact you if we need further information to assess your application and provide you with a decision as soon as possible.
Some of the questions above already indicate when you should send Admissions a message, but we have listed some further examples here for you:
