The King’s Russia Institute provides a focal point for Russia-related activities across a range of academic disciplines and is a hub for discussion and debate, linking UK and global audiences in education, the cultural and creative sectors, business and government.
Situated in the heart of London, the King’s Russia Institute is a hub for discussion and debate, linking UK, regional and global audiences in education, the cultural and creative sectors, business and government. Our students have the opportunity to attend guest lectures throughout the year by high-profile international speakers and a wide range of networking opportunities. King's Russia Institute students also enjoy excellent academic, social and cultural opportunities and wide-ranging access to library and archival resources.
It has never been more important to take a closer look at Russia. Twenty-five years after the fall of the Soviet Union and a hundred years since the Bolshevik revolution, Russia and the post-Soviet region are again at the heart of the political, economic and cultural conversations and conflicts that are reshaping the world. So, too, do global developments continue to reshape the region, which is still in the midst of one of the most profound transformations in modern human history. Studying Russia today means asking questions about how wars became possible and how to try to bring them to an end.
It also means asking ourselves how we can best support Russia’s diverse communities and cultures to live peacefully whilst ensuring prosperity for generations to come.
