Our Endodontics MSc is designed to give you the skills to successfully and confidently manage more complex and demanding endodontic cases. We will provide the latest evidence-based knowledge in endodontology enabling you to successfully integrate endodontic therapy with other aspects of restorative dentistry, and learn research methodology. This course is mostly delivered online, so you can study anywhere in the world with minimum disruption to your professional and personal life while benefiting from world-class teaching.
You will study the scientific basis of endodontology, diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with complex endodontic problems, and clinical treatment of patients with endodontic and other restorative problems. You will also study and develop research methodology skills to enable you to undertake a research project and further your expertise. We will train you with the latest evidence-based knowledge in endodontology and enable you to successfully integrate endodontic therapy with the other aspects of restorative dentistry. Delivered primarily online, the course also provides 14 days of intensive face-to-face teaching and practical training in London in the first 2 years. Our expert tutors will give you guidance on complex dental procedures at our specialist postgraduate teaching centre, LonDEC, which offers state-of-the-art simulation and digital training facilities. The face-to-face component takes place for seven consecutive days in Year 1 and seven consecutive days in Year 2. These training blocks are an invaluable way to consolidate learning and progress through to the final year.

A dental qualification acceptable to King's with employment as a dentist in a dental practice, dental school, hospital, or community dental services environment.

Approved photography equipment, as part of the monitoring process (advice on this will be given in the first intensive face-to-face teaching block).

International applicants are required to have a Dental degree from a recognised institution. The recognised status of an institution will be assessed after submission of an application.
To study at King's, it is essential that you can communicate in English effectively in an academic environment. You are usually required to provide certification of your competence in English before starting your studies.
Nationals of majority English speaking countries (as defined by the UKVI) who have permanently resided in this country are not usually required to complete an additional English language test. This is also the case for applicants who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree (of at least three years duration), a postgraduate taught degree (of at least one year), or a PhD in a majority English speaking country (as defined by the UKVI) within five years of the course start date.

Candidates who are required to provide evidence of English Language competence at Band D level (for example IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill) should ensure that they can provide this by the deadline in their offer letter.

The initial decision will be to either confirm the offer of a place without an interview, invite you for an interview, or make the application unsuccessful. We may run a waiting list with competitive applications placed on hold if there are more applications than spaces available.
You should expect to receive this initial decision within six weeks of the date of submission of the completed application, although this may be slightly longer at peak periods near to the closing date. Applicants who are offered a place will have to provide original documentary evidence of their previous qualifications, and pay a non-refundable deposit, before access to the online virtual learning environment will be given at the start of your course.

You will be taught mostly online through King’s E-learning and Teaching Service (KEATS) which provides information, interactive questions, assignments, use of bibliographic databases and reading material. You will have access to the extensive King's Library Facilities. Our students participate in online tutorials and discussion groups, interacting with expert tutors and their fellow students. Face-to-face lectures and hands-on training take place in blocks in the first two years. Students are required to undertake and build a reflective log of clinical work in their own general practice.
Students are required to have access to adequate clinical facilities and to patients requiring treatment relevant to the subject area.
The face-to-face component normally takes place over seven consecutive days in Year 1, and seven consecutive days in Year 2 at King’s College London's Waterloo Campus.

Typically, each module will be assessed through exams and/or assignments, with the exception of the Operative Procedures module and the Endodontic Retreatment/Surgery & Restoration of Endodontically Treated Teeth module which will be assessed through clinical portfolios, and your final project, which will normally be assessed by a 10,000-word written report.
You can take your exams in London or, for overseas students, at centres in your country of residence.
