Start at the Franklin-Wilkins Building and turn right, heading along Stamford Street towards the roundabout. FWB is named after notable alumnus, Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin, who made great inroads into the discovery of the structure of DNA. The building itself was established as a government office during the turn of the last century but was co-opted as a hospital during the World War I.
Situated on the roundabout is the London IMAX cinema, home to Britain’s largest cinema screen.
Cross over the road using the traffic lights on your left. On your left is the James Clerk Maxwell building, named after the important physicist and King’s Alumnus.
Turn right, and in front of you is Waterloo Station. Waterloo is Britain’s business railway station by passenger usage.
On your right is Waterloo Bridge, often quoted as providing the best viewpoint in London.

Once over the road, St Thomas’ hospital is suited directly in front of you. It is possible to walk through in order to access St Thomas’ House.
Walk round the side of the hospital onto Lambeth Palace Road and you pass the Florence Nightingale Museum. This museum houses a vast array of Nightingale’s personal effects, including her famous lamp.
On the left is Lambeth Palace Park, which is accessible to the public and adjoins the private gardens of Lambeth Palace, home to the Archbishop of Canterbury.
As you continue to walk along the road you will see a sign of Evelina Children’s Hospital. Turn right and St Thomas’ House is the first building on your right.
