Who can apply?
The University of Sydney Summer programme offer is open to undergraduate students only. Postgraduate taught and Postgraduate research students are excluded from this offer.
Courses offered
The University of Sydney offer a variety of classes including the Sydney Business Practicum & Sydney Sustainability programmes, as well as classes across Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Fine Arts & Internships. Students can select up to two intensive units of study over 5 weeks. The list of courses can be found on the How to Apply - Global Summer Exchange page. Students will need to log in with their King's credentials to view the information.
Programme dates
The University of Sydney Summer School programme will run over the following dates: Friday 20th June 2025 - Friday 25th July 2025
Application deadlines
If you wish to apply for a place on the University of Sydney Summer School programme, you will need to submit your Global Summer Exchange Application by: Sunday 19th January 2025, by 11:59pm. If your application is successful, you will be required to apply directly to the he University of Sydney by: Monday 31st March 2025.
What are the costs?
There are no fees associated with the University of Sydney Summer School programme, students who are successful in their application will receive a tuition fee waiver, however, Sydney have provided a rough breakdown of the estimated cost of living to give students budget indications for one week: Accommodation $345-725 Food and groceries $80-280 Public transport $15-55 Mobile phone $10-15 Entertainment $80-150 Weekly Total $530- $1230 Students who are successful in their application will receive a tuition fee waiver, but will be responsible for all other costs, including, flights, accommodation, visas, health/medical insurance (if compulsory), living expenses and those listed above. Students should also note that Health insurance is compulsory for most international students who are studying in Australia. It is a condition of the student visa that students maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their studies in Australia. This cover needs to be arranged before students can apply for their student visa. *Please note as of 1st July 2024, the Australian Government increased the Student Visa to AU$1600.
Accommodation
On-campus accommodation is provided but not mandatory and students will have access to airport pickups, a full social programme including welcome and farewell events, local student mentoring and all campus facilities. Accommodation information can be found on the webpage below.
Eligibility, Exclusions & Restrictions
Students need to have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale, or an average grade of ‘C’ or better on the European ECTS grading scale (or equivalent). Students also need to meet the English entry requirements as outlined on the website linked below.

Eligibility
Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled and in attendance at KCL. First year students and postgraduate students who wish to apply should be prepared for a limited course selection, due to the lack of grades available on a King's College London transcript. Students would need to demonstrate proof of English language proficiency when applying directly to Sydney.

Actual expenses may vary depending on student lifestyle. The cost of travel to and from the country is not included in these estimates.
