Ashoka University is India’s premier Liberal Arts and Sciences University, located in the Delhi NCR capital region in India. Ashoka University welcomes international students for the Ashoka summer session, which include exciting modules for a unique learning experience in a global classroom with Ashoka students. Ashoka offers an intensive six-week study programme held during the summer. A range of four credit courses are offered across disciplines. The residential campus provides a great opportunity to learn about India, get a global perspective in classroom discussions and debates; and explore New Delhi and other cities over the weekends to get a cultural taste of a vibrant country. It promises to be an unforgettable summer!

Who can apply?

The Ashoka University Summer programme is open to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students only. Postgraduate research students are excluded from this offer.

Courses offered

Ashoka University are running two programmes: For the Visiting Students Programme (VSP) summer courses, students can explore courses on Indian Civilisations, Philosophy of Love, Buddhism in Asia , Global, Macroeconomics of Debt, Visual Storytelling, International Geopolitics, History & Politics of War and more. For the Ashoka International Summer Research Programme (AISRP) students can take on projects in cell biology, genomics, neuroscience, climate & health to magnetization reversal, dihydrogen technologies and more which are on offer. Ashoka University is running two programmes and these are as follows: The Visiting Student Programme (VSP) will run from: Monday 7th July 2025 - Saturday 16th August 2025 The Ashoka International Summer Research Programme (AISRP) will run between: June 2025 - August 2025 - exact dates will vary per project

Application deadlines

If you wish to apply for a place at Ashoka University, you will need to submit your Global Summer Exchange Application by: Sunday 19th January 2025, by 11:59pm. If your application is successful, you will be required to apply directly to Ashoka University by the following dates: Ashoka University Summer Visiting Student Programme (VSP): Thursday 1st May 2025 Ashoka International Summer Research Programme (AISRP): Tuesday 15th April 2025

What are the costs?

Ashoka University Summer Visiting Student Programme (VSP) fees are as follows: Application processing Fee: Waived Tuition Fee: Waived Hostel: 55000 INR Meals: 30000 INR Administrative Fee: 25000 INR Total Fee: 110000 INR This fee covers the following: Accommodation (air-conditioned twin sharing room) Meal plan (4 meals/per day) Campus facilities ( sports, laundry service, shuttle service to New Delhi and airport pick up and drop off). Transcript of records Students service team support Orientation Summer activities The Ashoka International Summer Research Programme (AISRP) fees are as follows: Students will be required to pay in the region of INR 350000, for 8 to 10 weeks (includes tuition fees, on-campus accommodation and meal plan). Students who are successful in their application will receive a tuition fee waiver, but will be responsible for all other costs, including, flights, accommodation, visas, health/medical insurance (if compulsory), living expenses and those listed above.

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation is available. All international visiting students are guaranteed campus accommodation in fully furnished residence halls with laundry service. Rooms are on a double occupancy basis. Single room accommodation is not available. Visiting international students are housed with Ashoka students to encourage intercultural exchange. Students receive a meal plan (buffet and combo meals) at the dining facilities of Ashoka. Check the following for more information.

Eligibility, exclusions and restrictions

In order to apply for study abroad at Ashoka, students must fulfil the following criteria: - Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a partner institution of Ashoka University or any other institution abroad - Completed a minimum of 1 year of university level study (by the time s/he start at Ashoka) - A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale; or its equivalent. VSP students can choose courses/project as per their academic preference and availability. However, some courses have prerequisites. Incoming students need to provide evidence of prior knowledge of the topic to receive a waiver on prerequisites.
