We live in a time of increasing economic hardship. From energy costs to food bills, university students are struggling with the rising cost of living. This can have a knock-on effect on our wellbeing, and even on our ability to complete our studies. As a result of this, King’s has created various avenues for people to receive extra financial support. Never fear, King’s is here to help!
King’s Student Fund
The King’s Student Fund exists to help students who can’t afford essentials such as food, rent, bills and transport costs. If you’re considering leaving university due to financial problems, you’re particularly encouraged to apply.
To be eligible, you must be:
- An undergraduate
- Pay home fees
- Be from a household with an income under £42,875
You should review your income and expenditure before applying, as this will help you explain your personal situation to the Student Funding Office.
King’s Hardship Fund
The King’s Hardship Fund is available to home fee students who are undergraduates, postgraduates or on an NHS funded year
To be eligible, you must be:
- An undergraduate or postgraduate student
- Pay home fees
- Be from a household with an income over £42,874
International Hardship Fund
The International Hardship Fund exists to support international and EU students who have made financial provision for their studies but have experienced an unforeseen change of circumstances.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be an international or EU student
- Have evidence you were previously able to afford your studies
- Have evidence of your change of circumstances
