Optimising psychological treatment for Anxiety Disorders in Pregnancy: a feasibility study for a Trial of time-intensive CBT versus weekly CBT (ADEPT)

Optimising psychological treatment for Anxiety Disorders in Pregnancy: a feasibility study for a Trial of time-intensive CBT versus weekly CBT (ADEPT) will investigate whether Time-intensive CBT treatments are acceptable and feasible for prenatal women with anxiety disorders, compared to standard CBT.

Qualitative methods will be used to investigate the treatment experiences of women undergoing treatment in both trial arms, to improve understanding of experiences of having an anxiety disorder during pregnancy, experiences of treatment, and perceived benefits and limitations. Interviews will be taking place three months post-partum so that the impact of treatment on coping with anxiety during the post-partum period can be explored.

This study is funded by a HEE/NIHR Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship.
