Evaluation of the Domestic Abuse, Recovering Together (DART) programme
We worked with the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) to conduct a feasibility study of NSPCC’[s Domestic Abuse, Recovering Together (DART), a programme designed to help children recover from the negative impacts of domestic abuse by working directly with the mother and child. Our goal was to understand whether it would be possible for YEF to support NSPCC with a robust impact evaluation of DART.
The DART programme has a number of favourable aspects, such as operating across over 30 sites and a high rate of families starting the programme completing it. However, ultimately our investigations found that a number of steps would be required before it was feasible for DART to be evaluated via an experimental or quasi-experimental design.
