King’s academics have long been at the forefront of analysing the contradictions and crises of the global capitalist system. From local to international scales, we study society, economy, culture, and politics with reference to unequal power relations that underpin global capitalism. However, academics and students working on similar issues are often split by disciplinary boundaries and departmental walls. To begin to rectify this, we believe there is the potential for academics and students to come together to form a Global Capitalism Center at King's. To this end, this collective brings critical global capitalism research, teaching and activism at King's together under one umbrella to provide a forum for collaborations, events, and discussions, and to forge connections with the media, the policy world, and other like-minded groups.
