Caffeine Supplement Study
CARE team is currently recruiting for a study which will test whether a newly developed, immediate release caffeine supplement has effects on physical and cognitive performance compared to no pill or a placebo (i.e. a sugar pill).
The new caffeine pill is available without a prescription. Each tablet contains 45 mg of Caffeine, as well as a superdisintegrant, called croscarmellose, which disperses in the digestive system more quickly than typical caffeine supplements. We are testing whether this means the tablet has an immediate effect on aerobic endurance. After we’ve finished the study, this page will be updated to let you know the results we found.
We’ll be recruiting healthy adults and asking them to attend a research visit where they’ll answer some survey questions and undertake tasks such as eye-tracking and aerobic step tests.
The research visit usually takes about an hour and participants will receive a £10 voucher as a thank you for their time. Interested? Get in touch: care@kcl.ac.uk.
