Dr Ulrike Hammerbeck
Lecturer in Neural Control of Movement
Biography
Ulrike completed her PhD in Clinical Neuroscience at the Institute of Neurology, University College London under supervision of Prof John Rothwell, Prof Joern Diedrichsen and Dr Richard Greenwood. She subsequently completed a Stroke Association post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Manchester. Ulrike joined the Centre for Human and Applied Physiological Sciences at King's College London in 2023 as a lecturer in Neural Control of Movement.
Ulrike's research is focused on improving the understanding of motor recovery mechanism after neurological insult. To improve motor outcome she uses neurophysiological measures (TMS), kinematic techniques and digital health apps to establish individual recovery profiles and map the effect of rehabilitation on recovery.
