Biography
Tianne is a Research Associate at The Policy Institute and a social scientist specialising in global health, health policy and cross-cutting social policy. Her particular interest in psychology and neuroscience has led her to investigate the mental health of different populations (eg., emergency responders, people seeking asylum), interventions for families living with adversities, and improving epilepsy and stroke care. Other work has a strong focus on improving health equity, particularly within women’s health.
She is skilled in qualitative and quantitative research paradigms, including interviews, surveys, evidence syntheses, deliberative methods and creative ethnographic methods. Additionally, she has expertise engaging stakeholders through impactful Policy Lab workshops.
Underlying her work is a drive to make real-world impact. She has a strong track record of successfully mobilising research into policy and practice, including influencing the Women’s Health Strategy and contributing to local poverty strategy in London. She has presented her work at prestigious events including the European Public Health Conference, the International Humanitarian Studies Conference, and London Challenge Poverty Week.
Tianne holds an MSc in Global Health and Social Justice from King’s College London, a BSc specialising in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Birmingham and has studied at the University of Utrecht.
