Biography
Tiago Horta Reis da Silva is a Lecturer in Nursing Education (AEP) in the Department of Adult Nursing. Before joining King’s in August 2019, he worked in other HEI and NHS.
He is a member of the Adult Nursing department and assists with the running, development and administration of the BSc programme. He also participates in the teaching of other modules' content, assisting with interviews and assessment matters for other courses.
Tiago is the Faculty Partnership Lead for UCLH and the Faculty Lead for Moving and Handling.He collaborates with several international teaching organisations and delivers teaching in multiple subjects - Research, Evidence-based practice, Anatomy and Physiology, and TCM - in multiple HEIs and Colleges in Spain, Portugal, and Greece.
Tiago is a Senior Fellow in Higher Education, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and a Fellow for Faculty Nursing and Midwifery Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.
Teaching
Tiago teaches both the undergraduate pre and post-registration curriculum and postgraduate courses, nationally and internationally (Nanjing – China, and Singapore).
In the pre-registration BSc Nursing programme, Tiago is the module leader for Nursing Practice 2 (5KNIA011), a 60-credit module that addresses acute and long-term conditions.
In the post-registration, Tiago is the module leader for Fundamental Knowledge and Skills in Older Person’s Care (6KNIS605), which is an optional module of 15 credits, that is delivered in Singapore and addresses the uniqueness of care for Older People.
