Biography
Teresa was a community midwife and independent midwife for 15 years and became a part-time consultant midwife in 2009 leaving this role in 2015.
Teresa joined King's in 2011 and has led a variety of modules that enhance the clinical practice of student midwives from clinical skills, and decision-making to the organisation of midwifery care. Teresa now leads the MSc programmes in Midwifery, Advanced Practice (Midwifery) and Maternal and Newborn Health. Teresa is a Senior Fellow HEA and sits on the King’s Academy Panel. Although Teresa holds a teaching contract, she is committed to participating in research activity and has recently been involved in projects relating to student midwifery well-being, sexual and gender diversity in a midwifery curriculum and midwifery management of the perineum. Teresa is a member of the Athena Swan Committee.
