Biography

Dr Tao Wang is a Research Fellow at King’s College London. Between 2015 and 2018, he was awarded a full scholarship by the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) to pursue his PhD at the University of Southampton and The Alan Turing Institute, including a research exchange at the University of Western Australia.

Since 2019, he has been based at King's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), where he is a member of the Precision Health Informatics Data Lab. He also holds honorary research appointments at several leading UK hospitals and serves as a member of both King’s AI Institute and Meta/Facebook’s Global Safety Policy Advisory Board on Mental Health.

His research centers on advancing Natural Language Processing (NLP), Network Science, Multimodal Data Modeling and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with applications across healthcare, public health, sociology and law. Visit his homepage to find out more.
