Biography

Stefan Bernritter is a Reader (Associate Professor) of Marketing at King’s Business School and the Director of the MSc in Digital Marketing. Before joining King’s, he held positions as Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Marketing at Goldsmiths, University of London, and Assistant Professor of Marketing Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, University of Amsterdam. Stefan holds a PhD in Marketing Communication from the University of Amsterdam.

Innovative digital technologies and a constantly changing media landscape pose significant opportunities but also challenges for consumers and advertisers. Stefan’s research mainly focuses on consumer-brand interactions in this rapidly changing environment and covers topics such as, among others, Mobile Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Gaming, and AI in Advertising.

Stefan has published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the International Journal of Research in Marketing, the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, the Journal of Interactive Marketing, and the Journal of Advertising, among others.

He is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Interactive Marketing and holds editorial review board positions at all three leading advertising journals, the Journal of Advertising, the Journal of Advertising Research, and the International Journal of Advertising. Stefan was also a guest editor for the Journal of Advertising and, the Journal of Business Research.

Several awards from the European Advertising Academy, the International Communication Association, the International Journal of Advertising, and the Dutch-Flemish Communication Association have recognized Stefan’s work.

Dr Stefan Bernritter is currently accepting new PhD students.
