Biography

Dr Siavash Ali Madadi Jani is a Research Associate at the Centre for Sustainable Business, with a focus on Sustainable Business Models, Net Zero, and Socio-Ecological Systems.

Siavash’s research focuses on the intersection of sustainability, strategy and innovation, with a particular interest in how future imaginaries shape collective action.

Bridging sociology and management, his work explores organised responses to global societal challenges through a process and practice-based approach, emphasising pluralistic organisational contexts where values are diverse, and power is shared among stakeholders.

He is committed to both academic rigor and real-world impact. Previously, Siavash led a notable three-year research project funded by Jan Wallander and Tom Hedelius’ Foundation for Social Science, conducting an ethnographic study on the Restoration and Renewal program of the UK Houses of Parliament.

He is experienced in qualitative methods, having used a range of research designs, including cross-sectional and longitudinal case studies, and drawing on multiple qualitative data sources including interviews, observation and audio ethnographic techniques and archival sources to study private and public sector organisations.

Before the current role, Siavash worked as a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Sussex and University College London (UCL). He holds a PhD in Business Studies from Uppsala University (Sweden) and an MSc in Technological Entrepreneurship and Business Development from Umeå University (Sweden) and Grenoble Ecole de Management (France). Prior to academia, Siavash gained experience as a Management Consultant and Engineer.
