Professor Roopen Arya

Biography
Roopen Arya is Professor of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and Clinical Director for Haematological Medicine at King's College Hospital. He is also Director of King's Thrombosis Centre and Director of the National VTE Exemplar Centres Network in England. Roopen trained in Medicine at Oxford and completed his PhD in Molecular Medicine and Haematology training at King's. He was MRC Clinical Training Fellow at King's and Clinical Lecturer in Haematology before his appointment as Consultant Haematologist in 1999. His research interests focus on thrombosis, thrombophilia and anticoagulation. Advancing patient care around venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention and treatment has been a long term theme in his group. The interface between thrombosis and women's health is also a major interest.
