Biography

Richard Davill is a United Nations Volunteer with the United Nations Development Programme in the Solomon Islands. He holds a BSc in Environmental Hazards & Disaster Management from Kingston University and an MSc in Disaster, Adaption & Development from King’s. Richard has experience working in civil protection in the United Kingdom, leading a development project in Tanzania and working as an information analyst for ACAPS (‘The Assessment Capacities Project’), focused on the situation in Afghanistan, Nigeria and Palestine. He has also volunteered for several years as a search and rescue technician for an International Search and Rescue team in the UK.

Richard started his UN progression as an intern within the Field Information Service branch at Office of Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. While with United Nations Volunteers Richard is working with the National Disaster Management Office in the Solomon Islands to help strengthen information management and disaster assessment capacity.
