
Raquel Macedo Moreira
Research Associate
Biography
Raquel is a Research Associate at the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at The Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London. She is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), where she teaches Advocacy. She is admitted to the Brazilian (OAB/SP) and Milan Bars, and is a Solicitor of England and Wales.
She accounts for several years of experience in the private sector dealing with international commercial and investment arbitration cases. Her practice specialises in International Business Law, following her magna cum laude LL.M. degree obtained at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), and Construction Disputes, following her summa cum laude Master in Contract, Claim and Delay Management in Construction Works at Politecnico Milano (Italy). In October 2026, she will begin a PhD at King's College London, focusing on construction law.
Raquel is also active in the international arbitration community. She currently serves as UK Chapter Coordinator for AA40, The Italian below40 Arbitration Association, and as Mentoring Co-director of the Young ICCA Mentoring Programme. She previously coached the King's College London team for the Day of Crisis Competition and the Bocconi University team for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot for six consecutive years, and co-founded NDArb (Núcleo de Debates em Arbitragem) and IADG (International Arbitration Discussion Group).
She works fluently in Portuguese, English and Italian.
