Biography

Mr Cartwright was appointed an independent member of the College Council and Chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee in July 2019. He is also a member of the Governance, Performance and Remuneration Committee. Mr Cartwright was appointed a Governor of King’s College London Mathematics School in July 2024 and chairs their Finance and General Purposes Committee.

From 2014 until 2022, he was a Non Executive Director of West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and at various times chaired their Audit Committee, Finance Committee and Remuneration Committee.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he spent over twenty five years at Accenture in a variety of client based and management roles both in the UK and overseas and with his principal focus being on the systems and processes supporting the management of risk.

Mr Cartwright initially graduated in Economics from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge and since leaving Accenture, he has completed a Graduate Diploma in Theology and a Masters in Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies - both from King's College London. He is also an Associate of King's College London.
