Niccolò Valmori obtained his PhD in history and Civilisation at the European University Institute, Florence in 2016. He has worked as postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, the Institut d’études politiques and the University of Milan. He has been awarded fellowship at Stanford University, University of Michigan and The Library Company, Philadelphia. He is currently working as post-doctoral researcher on the AHRC funded project “Radical Translations. The transfer of revolutionary Culture between Britain, France and Italy (1789-1815).

Niccolò published on various aspects of political and social history of the French revolution. In his thesis he explored the relationship between financial elites and political actors between Amsterdam, London, and Paris. Later he developed his analysis including the Atlantic World with a focus on the Caribbean area.

Niccolò is currently working on the circulation of Italian translations of French and British radical texts during the period of the French revolution. He is currently working on a book project tentatively entitled: Finance and Politics during the Age of Revolution.
