Biography

I’m currently a BBSRC-funded Research Fellow working with Prof Maddy Parsons at the Randall Centre of Cell and Molecular Biophysics. My research interests include investigating the molecular mechanisms of pathology in respiratory epithelial cells and the application of 3D cell culture technologies into preclinical studies. I am also interested in respiratory epithelial stem cell differentiation via air-liquid interface culture and novel complex 3D in vitro model development. My research fellowship project is entitled: ‘Synthetic peptide micro-niche for the growth of respiratory tracheospheres’. Here, my research aims to generate an advanced 3D organoid platform to study respiratory lung disease with potential applications in targeted drug delivery and regenerative therapies. This model will also be applied to studying the coxsackie and adenovirus receptor (CAR) role in the lung epithelium.
