Mr Mark Bradshaw
Dissecting Room Technician
Biography
Dissecting room technician grade 3.
I work in the dissecting room where I provide technical support to academic staff, advice and pastoral care for undergraduate students and occasionally assist in demonstrating. Our department is licenced under the Human Tissue Authority and has over 100 people who donate their bodies to medical science each year my role is to liaise with the donations team, embalm the donors, prepare teaching specimens from them, and finally prepare them for funeral.
We also have a wide range of external clients who use the room throughout the year, I assist in taking bookings and invoicing, working with them on set up and equipment and assisting in teaching anatomy. I am the sustainability champion for the dissecting room which has gold status. I am also a member of the science council.
