Biography

Marcela Miozzo is Professor of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at King's Business School. She served as Head of Department (2020-2023). She is also visiting professor at Keck Graduate Institute, Claremont College, USA and honorary professor at Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, USA (Fulbright Scholarship) and MA from Maastricht University, The Netherlands.

She specialises in research at the intersection of the fields of innovation studies, firm strategy, and production systems. Her current research interests are on the growth, internationalisation and collaboration for innovation of both service firms and science-based firms; and on the relation between skills, capabilities and innovation in digital industries.

She designed, launched and directed the successful MSc in Strategic Entrepreneurship and Innovation at King’s Business School.

She has published extensively in leading refereed journals such as British Journal of Management, Research Policy, and Organisation Studies. Marcela has broad experience in international research projects funded by research councils (e.g., British Academy, Economic and Social Research Council, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council), government agencies and international organisations (e.g., European Commission).
