Biography
Born in Italy 1982, he studied Chemistry at University of Naples Federico II (MSc 2006 and PhD 2009). He carried out postdoctoral research, funded by an EMBO long-term fellowship at King's College London with Maria R Conte on LARPs, RNA binding proteins with relevant function in mRNA translation. He then moved to the Francis Crick Institute where he worked with Katrin Rittinger on soluble receptors and ubiquitin ligases involved in innate immunity. Since 2019, Luigi works at the Wellcome Trust as a Senior Research Manager where he actively manages a broad portfolio of bold and ambitious scientific activities comprising of open mode funding and some of Wellcome large strategic investments and partnerships.
