Biography

Lucy Coombes is a PhD candidate at the Cicely Saunders Institute, King’s College London and a paediatric palliative care Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Her PhD aims to develop the children’s Palliative Outcome Scale for use by children and young people with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families and to establish face and content validity, comprehensiveness, comprehensibility, acceptability and feasibility of use. Lucy has an MSc in Palliative Care and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences both from King’s College London. She has been a registered children’s nurse for 20 years, working in paediatric palliative care for the past 13 years.
