Biography
Dr Louise Hesketh started at King's as an undergraduate in 2013 studying Biomedical Sciences. After graduating in 2016, Louise remained at King's to undertake a PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Michael Curtis. Her PhD research focussed on the development of a novel ischaemia-activated antiarrhythmic prodrug for the treatment of lethal ventricular arrhythmias associated with the fatality of heart attacks. Following the success of this project, Louise began a 3 year postdoctoral research associate role alongside Dr Curtis after a project grant award was obtained by the lab from the British Heart Foundation in order to study additional ischaemia-activated antiarrhythmic prodrugs.
