Dr Lisa Whittaker
Patient and Public Engagement Coordinator
Biography
Lisa is a Public & Patient Engagement Coordinator, supporting researchers with their engagement activities involving patients. She also leads on public engagement across CRUK RadNet City of London (CoL) providing advice and support for RadNet CoL researchers, enabling them to develop high quality public engagement activities. Lisa also co-ordinates the Centre’s Public and Patient Involvement Group.
Lisa is an experienced youth worker, social researcher, and public engagement professional. She gained her PhD from the University of Stirling in 2011. Her research, public engagement and support work has always been centred on inequality, understanding marginalised groups, and tackling social and public health challenges. Lisa is passionate about patient and public engagement in research and improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
When she’s not working, or having fun with her twin boys, Lisa enjoys running and hunting for bargains in charity shops.
