Biography
Dr Liane Dupont is a Research Associate in the Department of Infectious Diseases, School of Immunology & Microbial Sciences. She gained her PhD in 2020 from University of Cambridge under the supervision of Professor Paul Lehner. Her thesis work characterised the restriction of unintegrated HIV-1 DNA by the cellular SMC5/6 complex and antagonism by HIV-Vpr. Liane joined the Malim lab in January 2021, where she will apply forward genetic screening approaches (CRISPR-Cas9 knockout/activation) to uncover novel aspects of host restriction of viral pathogens.
