Biography

Katharine completed her undergraduate studies in particle physics at Lancaster University. Her master's project was based on the long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment DUNE, in which she looked at DUNE’s sensitivity to solving the mass hierarchy problem and measuring CP violation. Her PhD research focuses on the SNO+ experiment, which is looking for neutrinoless double-beta decay.

Thesis title

SNO+ experimenting for neutrinoless double-beta decay

Research interests

  • Searching for neutrinoless double-beta decay on the SNO+ experiment, which will tell us if the neutrino is Dirac or Majorana

PhD supervisor

Principal supervisor: Dr Jeanne Wilson
