Biography
Jost Migenda is a Senior Research Software Engineer in the e-Research team. Since joining the team in March 2024, they worked on a variety of research software projects ranging from astrophysics to cardiology. They are also teaching courses on topics like programming with Python, version control and high-performance computing.
Before joining the e-Research team, Jost worked at King’s as a Research Associate in the Experimental Particle & Astroparticle Physics group. During that time, they contributed to astrophysics analyses and DAQ development for the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment. They also worked on the SNEWS 2.0 network, which brings neutrino physicists and astronomers together to coordinate multi-messenger observations of the next galactic supernova.
Jost received a BSc and MSc in Physics from TU Munich, and a PhD in Astroparticle Physics from the University of Sheffield.
The Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences is based in the heart of London with a long tradition of world-leading research and teaching in physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering. With nearly 5,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and around 350 academic and research staff, our ambition is to inspire, educate and innovate - fostering the next generation of scientists and future leaders.
