Dr Joel Naftalin is a Consultant Gynaecologist at University College London Hospitals, working in the early pregnancy unit and gynaecology diagnostic unit. His main areas of work include early pregnancy care, gynaecological ultrasound and benign benign gynaecological operating. He has an active research interest in adenomyosis, endometriosis, early pregnancy and causes of pelvic pain and has published many key papers in these areas.

Having graduated from University College London in 2002, he underwent postgraduate training in North East London. During this time he completed a research fellowship in gynaecology ultrasound with Mr Davor Jurkovic. He was subsequently awarded an MD from the University of London for his research work on the role of gynaecology ultrasound in the assessment of adenomyosis and endometrial cancer. He is on the executive committee of the Association of Early Pregnancy Units and chairs the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy’s Ultrasound Working Group. He regular gives lectures on emergency gynaecology, early pregnancy and gynaecological ultrasound.
