Biography

As a biomedical engineer, my main work has been on cardiovascular research focusing on imaging (mostly MRI and echocardiography) and modelling with a clinical translational goal. The focus has been on stenotic, valvular, hypertensive, heart failure and congenital cardiovascular conditions, accessing non-invasive parameters including the pressure and pressure drop across valve and vessel narrowings, cardiac energetics (work, power and kinetic energy) and efficiency, blood haemodynamics, turbulent dissipation, pressure recovery.
