Biography

Joanne Fitzpatrick is Reader in Older People’s Healthcare.

Joanne graduated as a Registered Nurse (Adult) with a BSc (Hons) from Ulster University before completing her PhD at King’s College London and PGCEA at the University of Surrey. Joanne is an NMC registered nurse teacher.

Joanne specialised in gerontological nursing. Her research focuses on the health and social care of older people, particularly in the care home sector, and workforce issues pertaining to nurses caring for older people. Joanne is a member of the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Older People Nursing and is co-editor of the 5th Edition of Redfern’s Older People Nursing which will be released in early 2023.
