Biography
I studied Developmental Biology at the University of Manchester. After working at the Nature Publishing Group, I undertook a Master’s research project at the University of Cambridge. I joined the the Wellcome Trust PhD Programme in Cell Therapies in Regenerative Medicine in 2018.
My current research project studies the importance of regulatory T cells (Tregs) in skin homeostasis. The Tregs are traditionally known for their immunosuppressive function. Recent evidence shows that the Tregs also regulate stem cells independently of its immunological function. My project studies whether the Tregs exert regulatory effects on stem cells during the postnatal development of the skin, a period during which stem cell activity is crucial.
