Ibi is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Women and Children's Health at King's College London, with over 20 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health, health inequalities, and health services research. Her work focuses on evaluating health interventions, improving healthcare access for underserved populations, and strengthening health systems to enhance resilience and equity.

Before joining King’s College London in 2019, Ibi held research roles at the University of Bristol and University College London, where she contributed to studies on HIV prevention and treatment, particularly for migrant and minority populations. She joined the KHP Women and Children's Health team in 2021, where she co-leads the "Ask the Institute" programme, a research advisory service that provides hands-on, specialist input into all areas of research and evaluation. She also leads the Resilient Health Systems project, aimed at helping healthcare services in South East London strengthen their capacity to manage shocks and stresses such as epidemics or workforce shortages. This initiative applies health systems strengthening strategies to ensure service sustainability and equity in healthcare delivery.

Ibi has a strong track record in leading qualitative and multi-disciplinary research teams to carry out a wide range of studies, including programme evaluations, systematic reviews, and evidence syntheses. She has extensive experience designing and leading health research projects in different scenarios and countries, including studies that aim to assess the effectiveness of health interventions. Ibi has provided expert technical advice to, and developed links with, community-based organisations across Europe, the US, and Sub-Saharan Africa and has worked with the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
