Biography
Dr Hyun-Young Jo is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour at King’s Business School.
Hyun-Young’s research interests lie in the areas of strategic human resource management, organisational behaviour, and service management. Specifically, she investigates why and how HRM systems influence employee and organisational outcomes, focusing on psychological processes behind the behaviour exhibited by employees in various service contexts. Related interests also include leadership, work stress, and well-being at work.
Her work has been published in international academic journals such as Human Resource Management Journal and Human Relations. She also acts as an ad-hoc reviewer for academic human resource management and service management journals.
Prior to joining King’s, she was Lecturer of Human Resource Management at Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds. She was awarded her PhD in Human Resource Management from King's Business School, King's College London in 2019 and received the ‘King’s Outstanding Thesis Prize’ sponsored by Elsevier for her doctoral research. She also received her MRes and MSc from Bayes Business school, City University of London and her BSc from University of Surrey.
Hyunyoung is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a member of the Academy of Management (AOM).
