Biography
Henriques is a Mozambican Physician with over 5 years of experience working with International Organizations, Academic Institutions and Health facilities researching, implementing and facilitating the delivery of effective and sustainable health services to populations in need. In Parallel, he has practised as a Clinician in the fields of Infectious diseases, Intensive Care & Emergency Medicine and General Surgery.
He has a medical degree from Eduardo Mondlane University and a Master’s in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford, alongside a postgraduate qualification in Infectious diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Henriques enjoys journalling, learning new skills, going on new adventures, playing video games and being regular in the gym. He is, also, committed to the improvement of others’ well-being and takes an interest in various issues of social justice and human rights.
He focuses on quantitative methods and his current research interests are in the emerging field of Global Surgery and include the provision of high-quality surgical procedures and rehabilitation to vulnerable populations in resource-constrained and humanitarian settings. As a Teaching fellow in the School of Life Course and Population Sciences, his main focus is contributing to future leaders’ education and professional development in Healthcare and allied Sciences.
