Biography

Hailing from India, Faiza is an international student at King’s College London, currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). A certified Neuro-Linguistic Programmer, Faiza has a deep interest in advancing mental health and wellbeing for students of all ages. Her work is driven by a commitment to psychological research and policy development, with a focus on creating systems that prioritize student welfare. During the pandemic, she channeled her passion for helping others by writing self-help blogs and producing academic guidance content through tutoring, YouTube videos, and podcasts.

As the Belonging, Engagement & Volunteering Project Officer at King’s, Faiza fulfills two distinct roles that complement each other. In her position as the Belonging and Engagement Officer for BE@King’s, she supports the management, evaluation, and impact analysis of various projects aimed at fostering a sense of belonging among students. This involves performing administrative and project management tasks while conducting research to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions on student wellbeing. Through this role, she actively works on initiatives that aim to enhance the student experience and align with her broader goal of improving mental health outcomes through systemic educational reforms.

In her capacity as Volunteer Coordinator at King’s Volunteering, Faiza manages the King’s Volunteering platform, connecting students, staff, and alumni with opportunities to make meaningful contributions to their communities. She provides a valuable student perspective to various projects and collaborates with both staff and students to promote volunteering across King’s. Faiza also leverages her skills in statistics and visual communication to analyze data, track the impact of volunteering efforts, and effectively share the platform’s success stories within and beyond King’s.

Faiza’s roles allow her to combine her academic knowledge with practical skills in project management, research, and community engagement. Looking ahead, she aspires to use her experiences at King’s to create educational policies that integrate mental health and wellbeing into the fabric of student life.
